Psychic Attack Notes, Ingo Swann, February 13, 1999
Ingo had made countless attempts to rid the 357 of malevolent beings, not just with Paula but on his own as well. His archives were overflowing with session notes of his last attempts in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Each page was filled with descriptions of dark vortices, curses from other dimensions, remnants of a dark war that clung to the walls like a disincarnate cloud. He wrote of something evil attached to Charlie’s bed, leaving behind a trail of destruction. And then there were the psychic attacks, coming from an obscured dimension that seemed to have a personal vendetta against him. It was no wonder that the third floor, with all its history and negative energy, was a constant source of fatigue for him.[1] In the end, I concluded, the unremitting “hauntings”[2] that tormented Ingo and 357 could be traced back to a combination of factors: Ingo’s secretive psychic spying missions that led him to forbidden places, his telepathic excursions into dangerous territories, and the summoning of dark forces by others.

[2] Known as hitchhikers, these anomalous events are believed to be evil spirits that attach themselves to those who have encountered UFOs, experienced abduction, or visited “haunted” places.
The shaman’s sighting of such a creature was not limited to my uncle alone. Little did I know, there were others who have encountered a being just like this, hiding in the edges of awareness and preying on victims far beyond the reaches of 357. This elusive creature has an impressive resume, its work spanning across countless human lifetimes. In our modern world, it is categorized as one of the shadow people – dark, spectral beings with hellish intentions that cross over into our realm. The purpose of this particular entity seems to revolve around its insatiable desire to feed off the energy of fear and terror it inflicts upon its chosen victims; to it, we are nothing more than a demonic charging apparatus. Often described as wearing a fedora hat and a dark dress suit, sometimes adorned with a gold pocket watch or piercing red eyes, it skulks in the corners of rooms, hiding in mirrors, and lingering at the edge of beds with ominous intent. But sometimes, it chooses to attack, leaving deep and lasting trauma upon its unfortunate victims. These “sightings” and attacks often occur during deep REM sleep, rendering the victim paralyzed and completely vulnerable to its grasp. Known as the Hat Man, this entity is believed to be a stand-in for the Devil himself.
As the Fourth of July celebrations echoed through the streets of 1870, The New York Times made a note of the latest proposal by the Germania Life Insurance Company. Their plan? To erect a grand building, meant solely for offices, at No. 357 Bowery. This prime location was nestled in the heart of Kleindeutschland, or Little Germany
“Welcome to The High Line Hotel. Our bar is inspired by Ingo Swann (1933 – 2013), the world’s foremost psychic.”
He had been in the realm of idyllic existence limiting his other than human contact to his group of “female goddesses,” and relying on them for assistance. But as he ventured deeper into the underground caves, where non-human beings were rumored to reside according to the 1999 transcript, he realized that he was entering a much more dangerous territory. He had recently written about the dangers of these beings in FATE and Penetration, warning others about their deceitful nature despite their initial appearance as helpful and wise. However, in the midst of his exploration, he had forgotten just how treacherous this realm could be; non-human entities are known for their trickery. If you think this is a world filled with unicorns and rainbows, you have already fallen under their spell. They had woven a web of illusion, and he was unwittingly being led to his demise like a lamb to the slaughter.
